Sharing Hands
Sharing Hands is a nonprofit charitable organization based in Brownsville that provides food assistance and other resources to 175 to 250 Central Linn County families each month. The Sharing Hands Food Bank, located downtown, provides food to over 125 families monthly. They rely on donations and volunteers, so if you have time or money to donate, it is very appreciated. The Sharing Hands Thrift Store on W. Bishop Way offers shoppers clothing, home goods, books, toys, and so much more. Proceeds support the food bank, so be sure to stop by and shop 'til you drop! They also run the Snack Pack program, which gives snacks to qualifying students on the weekends during the school year. The Parents & Pals program helps educate parents to reduce child abuse. In 2004, the Learning Tree Pre-School was founded to prepare students for kindergarten. And lastly, the Christmas Greeters provide food and gifts to low-income seniors and children over the holiday season. Their endless generosity to our community is incredibly appreciate and something to support in any way you can.
