Flat Earth Herbs' humble beginning was a 2012 endeavor offering handcrafted herbal products to the public as a Eugene Saturday Market vendor known as "Just Lavender." It was rebranded as Flat Earth Herbs in 2018, carrying forward the "Home of 911 Butter" tag line, which is another story.

As a child, Regina (also known as Rege) lived with her grandparents and younger brother in the Heart of the Missouri Ozarks for a few years. "My grandparents had their own special medicine cabinets," as she explains it. "Grandpa John's medicine cabinet contained all sorts of stinky bottles of stuff he used in caring for his farm animals and Grandma Nellie's medicine cabinet contained all the sticky stuff she used for caring for Rege and her brother." The  good news is that whatever was in those medicine cabinets WORKED! It would be fair to say Rege's interest in herbs and alternative medicines started at a very young age.

In 1981, Rege became more curious about herbs while visiting her favorite Aunt Marie in Battle Ground, WA. Her aunt shared herbal knowledge and several reference books, which increased Rege's herbal interest even more. Full circle, years later, she continues studying herbs and formulating effective remedies addressing a variety of common issues.

Watching for the right opportunity to establish a small Flat Earth Herbs store in Brownsville since 2020, word of a store vacancy surfaced in April 2024 during a local meeting. Wondering if this could be the right place, right time opportunity, she pursued the possibilities. Negotiations to rent the small store in the parking lot of Randy's Main Street Coffee began in August.

Rege looks forward to serving her community by offering alternative herbal information, education, and choices, plus special items from a few hand-selected local makers, in a welcoming, familiar, hometown setting. She is also forming a Linn County Chapter of the Weston A. Price Foundation, which is focused on educating and networking dense nutrition, local whole food producers with local patrons. More information will be available in the store.

The tiny store is located at 240 N Main St and hours are Friday and Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm and by appointment. She asked that you like the business' Facebook page (links to the left) to stay in touch with current happenings.
