The Culpepper & Merriweather Circus is returning to the Central Linn High School grounds again on May 21, 2017, with performances at 2:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Central Linn Lions Club. Tickets will cost $10 for adults and $7 for children 12 and under and for seniors. Tickets will be on sale soon at the Brownsville Pharmacy, The Times office, the Brownsville Spirits and Video, Halsey City Hall, Gypsy Treasure in Harrisburg, and the Courtyard on Sixth Street in Junction City. Tickets will also be available from Lions Club members. Ticket prices will increase on the day of the circus: $13 for adults and $8 for children and seniors.
A clown will visit town on the afternoon of May 10th to visit the elementary school and the libraries in Brownsville and Halsey.
The public is invited to watch the tent raising of the Big Top between the hours of 9:30 and 10:00 a.m. that Sunday morning, May 21. The tent stakes go down four to six feet, and it is exciting to watch the circus members raise the main tent. A tour by Leo the Clown is available during the tent-raising for everyone to learn more about circus life.
We hope you join us in Historic Brownsville for this family-friendly event.
