April through October Saturday Farmer's Market The Calapooia Food Alliance operates a farmers market during the growing season. The market is located at the vacant lot at the corner of N. Main and Park Street. There you will find fresh produce, flowers and many other items coming from local producers. July - start at 6 pm; August - start at 5 pm; September - start at 4 pm Calapooia Croquet Court Accept this invitation to experience the sedate, but intensely earnest Victorian battle of the wicket, the ball, and the mallet. Everyone is welcome and all equipment is provided. Membership is $25 per person 18 and over. Drop in fee is $5 per evening; after paying 5 drop-in fees an individual is then a member.  | | Late February, Friday evening and all day Saturday Storytelling Festival The "5th Annual Brownsville Welcomes You Home Storytelling Festival" features a Saturday evening dessert and performance by a National Storyteller.  | | Saturday before Easter at 1 p.m. Easter Egg Hunt Children are encouraged to bring their own baskets to find multi-colored eggs in Pioneer Park. They are divided into age groups 0 to 3, 4 to 6, 7 to 9 and 10 to 12 and prizes are awarded for First, Second and Third places. The event is sponsored by the Central Linn Recreation Association.

 | | Saturday, May 7 & Sunday, May 8 Carriage Me Back A somewhat historic, always enjoyable, community drama of life in a particular year in the history of Brownsville. Dressed in period costumes, local actors take on the personalities of well-known historical characters. Visitors ride in a horse-drawn carriage from the Linn County Historical Museum to the 1881 Moyer House enjoying reenactments at stops along the way.  | | Mid to Late June - Friday through Sunday Pioneer Picnic Linn County Pioneer Picnic is Oregon's oldest continuing celebration. The first Picnic consisted of a reunion of Oregon Trail pioneers in 1887. With the passing of time and the pioneers, the Picnic changed to include other entertainment and activities.  | | July 4th - all day Fourth of July breakfast and fireworks Fourth of July in Brownsville is all you imagine a summer holiday in rural America to be. The morning begins at 8 a.m. with a pancake breakfast at the pavilion in Pioneer Park. Pancakes, eggs, ham, syrup, hot coffee, all served with the entertaining antics of the volunteer fireman pancake flippers and the dancin' grooves of the serving chicks. Many people spend the day in the park anticipating the fireworks display put on by the Brownsville Volunteer Fire Department. Bring your change as the boot is passed and help us continue a wonderful tradition.

 | | Mid July, Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Citywide Garage Sale Every July, Brownsville residents haul down the clutter from their attics, drag out treasures from their garages and organize accumulations from their barns in anticipation for the Brownsville Citywide Garage Sale. All of the usual garage sale items can be found throughout the city as well as some unusual items and a treasure with your name on it! Garage sale maps will also be available in town.

 | | Late July, Saturday 11 a.m. to evening Stand By Celebration Join us in Brownsville, Oregon, as we celebrate the filming of the classic movie Stand By Me. In 1985, Brownsville was turned into a town named Castle Rock, and was teaming with film crews, actors and all the excitement of the movie making process. Today, the movie is still regarded as a favorite and is listed as one of the top 250 American films of all time. A classic movie based on a novella by Stephen King and released in 1986, Stand by Me is a worldwide favorite. Join us for the Car Cruise In, Hot Wheels Races, Amateur Blueberry Pie Eating Contest, Street Dance with Live Band, and finally, the movie itself, in Pioneer Park.  | | The last full weekend in July - Saturday and Sunday Traditional Archers of Oregon (TAO) Pope Young Shoot Traditional Archers of Oregon invite all interested in archery to this event in a beautiful old growth fir grove off of Courtney Creek Drive just southeast of Historic Brownsville. Saturday is devoted to the CLOUT and WAND shoots which originated in England as a part of medieval military strategies when castles were attacked.
